SELA strengthens convergence for social development in the region in its programme for 2024

The Social Development Area of the updated Work Programme for 2022-2026 of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) includes 15 activities under there (3) programmes.
The Sustainable and resilient development programme includes the projects “Technical support for cooperation and sustainable development” and “Capacity building for the regional public sector,” with three (3) activities to be implemented for each one. The “Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change” programme includes the “Comprehensive Disaster Risk Management in Latin America and the Caribbean” project with 4 planned activities. And the programme Promoting a comprehensive vision of human mobility includes the “Best practices in migration policies” project, with three (3) activities; and the “Social development and migration” project with two (2) activities for 2024.
The proposed planning for the Social Development Area of SELA seeks to promote regional cooperation in order to accelerate the economic and social development of its members, in compliance with the mandate of the organisation, whose work programme is aimed at addressing the social development challenges of the Latin American and Caribbean region, focused on the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
