SELA highlights the importance of strategic alliances to boost digital transformation in the region

The National Chamber of Telecommunications Companies (CANAEMTE) held this Wednesday 26 April the Technological Forum “CANAEMTE 2023 Technological Strategies and Perspectives” at the headquarters of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), in Caracas, in order to present all the advances of the industry and its digital transformation.
During his opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Clarems Endara, underscored that the organisation's Work Programme is aimed at boosting and promoting digitalization and investment in infrastructure as a vehicle to achieve better economic and social results in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this regard, he stressed the importance of potential strategic alliances between private associations and public bodies for digital transformation. “We are pleased that each entity can consider us as partners to fulfil these purposes, aimed at boosting digital inclusion and connectivity, as well as the development of sustainable infrastructure in the region,” he said.
For his part, Javier Rodríguez, Analyst of SELA, made a presentation on the role of the organisation in the digitisation process in Latin America and the Caribbean, dealing with the objectives, programmes and activities that the Economic System has proposed.
SELA's facilities were the venue for the industry networking in order to show the technological advances for 2023 and part of 2024 with respect to the commercial techniques that go hand in hand with different companies: Operators, integrator manufacturers, electrical and oil sector and organisations that compose it, among others, both national and international in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
The agenda of the event addressed topics such as: 5G Ecosystem, Fiber Optics, Artificial Intelligence and M2M, Adaptive AI, Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology, NFT (Non-Fungible Tokens), Cybersecurity, Alternative Energies, Power Grids, Solar Energy, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Technologies, Social Responsibility in Telecommunications, among others.
