On Tuesday 29 November, the Preparatory Meeting for the XLVIII Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council of SELA was held to discuss the proposed Work Programme for the year 2023, focused on three work areas: Economic Recovery, Digitalisation and Social Development. The objective is to coordinate positions of the Member States in order to make progress towards integration and development of the region.
SELA's Work Programme for 2023 is divided into three working areas and includes a total of 43 activities aimed at trade facilitation, SMEs, and economic integration; digital transformation and sustainable energy infrastructure; as well as vulnerability of food systems, migration, and comprehensive disaster risk management. The outline of the Work Programme responds to the sustainable development goals of Latin America and the Caribbean, which is part of SELA's commitment with its membership.
Once the Preparatory Meeting reviews the Work Programme for 2023, it will be discussed at the XLVIII Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council, the highest decision-making body of SELA, which annually brings together its Member States to establish the general policies of the organization.
The Work Programme for 2022-2026 of the organisation has been designed to address three core areas of work: Economic Recovery, Digitalisation and Social Development, aimed at responding to the needs of the membership in a challenging economic context, which requires greater convergence for the development and integration of the region.
