The Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), Ambassador Clarems Endara, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Argentina in Venezuela, Óscar Laborde, who undertook to promote SELA's work as an organisation that harmonises and coordinates regional integration.
During the meeting, Óscar Laborde expressed his willingness to work together with regional integration organisations such as Mercosur, the Pacific Alliance, the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), among others, to coordinate efforts towards convergence among the countries in the region.
The meeting between the Permanent Secretary of SELA and the Ambassador of Argentina in Venezuela was also attended by the Minister Plenipotentiary, Eduardo Alberto Canale, who reviewed the achievements of the organisation's multi-year Work Programme and the joint projects that favour economic recovery and growth in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Argentina has been a Member State of SELA since 1977 and has always maintained a cooperative relationship for the development of the region. At the next Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council, Argentina will assume the chair of SELA's Bureau.
