The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) will hold on Thursday 5 May its XIV Special Meeting of the Latin American Council, the highest decision-making body of the organization, chaired by Mexico and made up of the 25 member countries of SELA.
The meeting will be held at the headquarters of the Permanent Secretariat of the organization, in Caracas, in a hybrid modality (face-to-face and virtual). The purpose of this XIV Special Meeting is to present the achievements and progress in the implementation of the Work Programme for 2022-2026, approved in November last year during the XLVII Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council and focused on contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
Economic recovery, digitalisation and social development are the three main areas that make up SELA's multi-year work programme, aimed at strengthening the capacities of the Member States to overcome the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, generating value added in terms of the design of public policies
The Latin American Council is the highest decision-making body of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), which annually brings together its Member States to establish the general policies of the organization and specific recommendations through decisions approved by consensus.
SELA is committed to achieving more and better integration for its 25 Member States through a common regional agenda among blocs for the development of economic policies that contribute to the growth of Latin America and the Caribbean.
