introduction
SELA organized the Seminar on impact evaluation of public policies for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) in Latin America and the Caribbean, in collaboration with the Latin American Centre for Development Administration (CLAD), the Ibero-American School of Administration and Public Policies (EIAPP), CAF-development bank of Latin America, the World Bank (WB), the Centre for Research and Teaching on Economics (CIDE), the Regional Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results for Latin America and the Caribbean (CLEAR-LAC) and the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Panama. This Seminar enabled officials of the institutions responsible for SMEs in Latin America and the Caribbean to obtain the technical skills required for the design, implementation and evaluation of public policies for MSMEs, as well as to disseminate recent initiatives that the governments of the region are implementing to promote these enterprises. It also allowed to consolidate technical cooperation among these focal points, in order to contribute to greater efficiency in the implementation of these policies.
