The Director of the Department of Regional Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, Ambassador Daniela Arruda Benjamin, acknowledged the contribution of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) to the strengthening of regional integration, during her virtual participation in the 50th Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), held on Wednesday 11 December in Caracas.
“In strengthening regional integration and the functioning of the different integration bodies in the region, we are convinced that SELA has a fundamental role to play, especially because of its expertise in areas of action that are all very relevant for the region,” the Brazilian Ambassador said.
She also highlighted SELA’s initiative to coordinate with various regional organisations in order to offer strategic solutions to the challenges faced by Latin America and the Caribbean.
“I am very grateful for SELA’s willingness to continue involving Brazil in its activities, and we reiterate our interest in continuing to deepen this relationship and the integration among our countries,” she noted.
During the 50th Regular Meeting of the Latin American Council, SELA renewed its commitment with its Member States and regional mechanisms to achieve more and better integration through a common regional agenda that contributes to the growth of Latin America and the Caribbean.
