In a meeting with the Minister President of the Central Bank of Cuba (BCC), Juana Lilia Delgado Portal, the Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), Ambassador Lesly David, presented SELA’s main lines of work in key areas such as: the digitisation of productive activities, food security, climate change, as well as assessing the potential for financial cooperation with development banks.
During the meeting, the Minister President of the BCC expressed her strong interest in these initiatives, highlighting the potential for joint efforts in disseminating best practices and strengthening inter-institutional collaboration at both the regional and extra-regional levels.
The Cuban monetary authority also stressed the importance of moving forward with the creation of new digital payment systems and promoting macroeconomic stability, which are essential elements for attracting investment to the country.
This dialogue reaffirms SELA’s commitment to strengthening regional integration and technical cooperation among key institutions for the economic development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
