Presidents of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador present the “Plan of the Alliance for Prosperity in the Northern Triangle”

Washington, November 11, 2014.- With the goal of encouraging economic development and job creation in their countries, Presidents Juan Orlando Hernández of Honduras, Otto Pérez Molina of Guatemala and Salvador Sánchez Cerén of El Salvador will present the “Plan of the Alliance for the Prosperity of the Northern Triangle” on Friday, November 14.
The presentation of the plan and discussions with prominent members of the private sector will be the highlights of the seminar entitled Investing in Central America: Opening up Opportunities for Growth, organized by the IDB, with the participation of business and government leaders from Latin America, North America and Europe.
The “Plan of the Alliance for Prosperity in the Northern Triangle” features medium-term working guidelines and commitments by regional leaders to promote human well-being in the region, improve the work and business climate, ensure more effective government, create jobs, reduce poverty, improve the quality of services and expand economic opportunities for all of those in search of a better life.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden will also deliver official remarks at 10 AM at the headquarters of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, D.C.
The event, which will include presentations by the three Central American Presidents, IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno, and official remarks by Vice President Biden, is invitation-only. Members of the news media are invited to cover the entire event, including the opening and the morning and afternoon seminar sessions.
