SELA and CAVECOL sign letter of intent to contribute to the development of the region

With the purpose of joining efforts to contribute to sustainable and inclusive economic and social development in Latin American and Caribbean countries, through technical and institutional cooperation actions, the Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), Ambassador Clarems Endara, signed this Monday a letter of intent with Luis Alberto Russian, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Venezuelan-Colombian Chamber of Economic Integration (CAVECOL).

The letter establishes the commitment of both institutions to work on the promotion of production chains in various areas, especially cocoa and coffee; ecotourism; niches and production chains based on complementarity; as well as the development and dissemination of public policies aimed at sustainable trade and production.

They also agree on the promotion of business rounds with the chambers of Latin America and the Caribbean; and on the organisation and implementation of research projects, workshops, courses, seminars and other educational, training and content generation instances of value in the areas/topics of interest to both organisations.

The Venezuelan-Colombian Chamber of Economic Integration (CAVECOL) is a non-profit civil association that has been promoting commercial exchange between Venezuela and Colombia for more than 40 years, with the aim of fostering binational relations in economic, industrial, commercial and service matters and public-private articulation, as well as creating and sharing information and valuable contents in the areas of its competence.

The signing of the letter of intent with the Venezuelan-Colombian Chamber of Economic Integration (CAVECOL) is part of SELA's Work Programme, committed to convergence for development and integration among Latin American and Caribbean countries.
