The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), committed to promoting the integration of port activity in the region, awarded a scholarship to José Joel Rodríguez, Academic Professor of the International Maritime University of Panama, to participate in the Internship Programme of the Port of Santander 2023, which took place from 18 to 29 September of this year, as part of the academic activities of the Menéndez Pelayo International University.
The Internship Programme 2023 of the Port of Santander, Spain, is part of an international cooperation initiative that aims to provide professionals from the Latin American port sector with access to techniques, practices, management procedures and solutions developed in the Port of Santander, contributing to the improvement of training and the acquisition of new skills.
Therefore, SELA facilitated the participation of José Joel Rodríguez as a stimulus to human talent in the definition of the new professional profile required in the region, involved in the necessary digital transformation of ports.
SELA reiterates its commitment to training, especially in areas of interest for the region, in compliance with its mandate to strengthen the response capacity in the coordination of public policies that contribute to the professional and technical development of the entity it represents and of the members of the project of the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports of the organisation, as well as to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals of our Member States, for more and better integration!
