The Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and the Latin American Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CELIEM) are organizing the first edition for the Caribbean of the Diploma in Management of MSME Programmes with a Gender Approach.
The diploma course is an initiative aimed at strengthening institutional capacities in public management of those who coordinate processes to support the development of entrepreneurial ecosystems for women.
The activity is aimed at public officials and decision-makers in the Caribbean who, through their work at national, regional and local levels, develop support processes to strengthen a favourable environment for the promotion of women's entrepreneurship, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Latin America.
Its objective is to install and develop technical capacities to formulate public policies, promote and develop a better ecosystem that strengthens the promotion of innovative, inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship led by women, in order to have an impact on the development and economic growth of the region.
The Diploma in Management of MSME Programmes with a Gender Approach consists of three modules, which address conceptual elements, tools and methodologies that will enable participants to acquire or strengthen their knowledge and skills in order to improve their personal and professional performance in the management of processes that promote their institutions in the development of public policies to improve entrepreneurial ecosystems.
For SELA, the gender approach is a cross-cutting element in its multi-year Work Programme, focused on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Latin America and the Caribbean, specifically in promoting the entrepreneurial ecosystem of SMEs in the region.
