SELA to present in Panama the results of phase III of the Programme for the creation of Digital and Collaborative Ports
The Permanent Secretariat of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA) and CAF-development bank of Latin American will conduct the presentation of the Final Report on the Programme for the creation of the Latin American and Caribbean Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports, in its third phase, on 22 February 2019 in Panama City, Panama. The purpose of this activity is to identify, promote and disseminate the best institutional, digital and innovation practices in the region.
The Programme has carried out a series of technical activities from 2014 to 2018 with the participation of (13) countries: Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Brazil; bringing together a total of 27 port systems.
In March 2017, the Network established its own governance together with its collaborating members, which has enabled it to carry out a work plan in the scientific and technological fields, management and sustainability of logistic port communities, and public policies related to transport and trade for port development and logistics.
The activity will be attended by the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Javier Paulinich; Fausto Arroyo, CEO of CAF-development bank of Latin America; and Luis Ascencio, international consultant and technical coordinator of the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports.
