SELA to hold III Meeting of logistic port communities in Lima
It is of the utmost importance for this organization to consolidate an agenda on trade facilitation and transport for the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports, which responds to the new challenges of port governance, adoption of technology and trade facilitation
As part of the “Programme for the creation of the Network of Digital and Collaborative Ports”, undertaken by the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), jointly with CAF-development bank of Latin America, the III Regional Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Logistic Port Communities will be conducted in Lima on 16 and 17 August 2018.
With the support of the National Port Authority of Peru and renowned experts in the subject, the opening session will be attended by the Permanent Secretary of SELA, Ambassador Javier Paulinich. The event will deal with an agenda on trade and transport facilitation, with emphasis on the role of port nodes as promoters of competitiveness.
Finally, the meeting is expected to generate a roadmap that defines the future of the Network as a regional partnership involving the participation of the ministries of transport, national port authorities, logistic communities and international technical cooperation.
Since 2014, SELA has been working hard on the creation of the Network, becoming a model of reference for the management of community initiatives. During that time, a total of 13 countries and 27 logistic port communities of Latin America and the Caribbean have joined the Network.
